Somido Homecoming set to change the face of OUTDOOR ENTERTAINMENT


Small towns are often forgotten, unseen and in most cases endure exclusions from the creative/music space.

Somerset East is one of such a town and as it stands this small town’s luck is about to change for the better creatively.

The Somido Homecoming festival is an annual music showcase set to debut on the 26th of December2015. The event seeks to give new meaning to the term “outdoor experience” with a keenfocus on original and creative delivery in production. The event seeks to heighten the production quality of outdoor events by creating a space that affords patrons an exquisite encounter of artistry.

The festival is set to host some of South Africa’s most seasoned artists namely; Shota, durbanite hip hop sensation Duncan (afrotainment), Pastor the DJ (Umhlobo Wenene), Eastern Cape stars Sdudla and Ma100 amongst others. The event will also be giving local artists an opportunity to share the stage with these industry personalities, along with that an opportunity to walk away with R2500.00 in cash competing in the “Somido Talent Search. One of the many ways the event seeks to inspire monetizing the creative space.

Also the festival is opened to all creative communities and outlets for active participation through stall operations at the event where creatives are afforded the opportunity to showcase and make sales off their creative produce in this way encouraging creative e-commerce. Get involved.

The Somido Homecoming festival is set to host well over 9000 patrons on the day at The Old Gillian Sports Grounds Somerset East. The music showcase promises to deliver real time entertainment that is authentically South African and in doing so delivering the ultimate outdoor experience for its attending patrons.
